In a recent battle of violin brains, American virtuoso and composer Mark O’Connor criticized Suzuki and his legendary teaching methods. In interviews and on his blog, O’Connor has set out to disprove not only Suzuki’s methods (he prefers “Boil ‘Em Cabbage Down” to “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”) but also parts of his memoir, “Nurtured By Love”. It looks like O’Connor could be sponsoring an anti-Suzuki ad campaign soon if we’re not careful.
