In less than two weeks I will board a great big airplane in Boston to start my ten-day adventure in the English countryside. I have spent the past week sorting out the electronics I will need to record video of the walk for publication as I walk and perhaps to assemble a feature-length version of my experience upon my return. The challenge is to have the right equipment to record, edit, publish and store the footage but to keep it all compact and portable enough to easily carry from place to place. Online research has paid off in this respect. I now have the cables, switches, adapters, readers, dongles and power sources needed to accomplish all this within the confines of a B&B bedroom. I have practiced recording and editing videos. Now I need a little time to learn how best to post them online for my friends to see. As of now, I expect that my video outlet will be YouTube. The plan is that each blog post will feature a link to that day’s video clip. I plan to follow the advice of the masters and limit each clip to approximately 30 seconds. If you’re one of those intrepid folks who follow me, please grace me with politely worded critiques of each post so I might improve the content and/or the presentation.
