A quick update here to let our followers and friends know that Mike and I have booked our return trip to England to complete the Coast-to-Coast walk. The necessities of business and family require that we put this off until late summer next year but the wait will serve only to boost our enthusiasm. We will check into The George Hotel in Orton on September 4, 2023 and resume walking toward Kirkby Stephen the next morning. We insisted that the first night be booked into The George because the owners, Andy and Bruna, were so kind to us when we had to abandon the trek last month. Bruna guided us through the online train schedule and ticketing process to get us safely and quickly back to Manchester Airport. And Andy happily drove us the dozen or so miles up to Penrith where we boarded the train. It is a rare and uplifting experience to have complete strangers be so empathetic and helpful in the midst of a personal swirl. We need to plan an appropriate acknowledgement of their kindness.
